This joint should be sturdy enough to support the canopy of the umbrella as well as the additional load that will be imposed because of the mild wind or the water of the drizzle.
To take care of the wind direction, another swivel mechanism also was included that enabled the umbrella to turn it to the wind direction. Both these mechanisms effectively took care of the changing direction of sun rays or the wind directions without disturbing the relaxing person.
